Lahco was founded in 1922 as an underwear company in Baden and has been producing swimwear for men and women who appreciate great comfort and high quality standards since the 1930s.
The great attention to detail has a long tradition at Lahco and is an essential part of an unmistakable culture. The zipper with the triangle pendant is still Lahco's distinguishing feature today.
The creative process and product design takes place at our company headquarters in Balgach, Switzerland. In production, we continue to focus on high quality standards with European production.
Baden, 1922
It was in 1922 that Dr. Lahman Unterkleidung granted a knitting and knitwear factory in Baden, Switzerland, the right to manufacture his undergarments and mark them with his name as a sign that they were made under his authority and guarantee. The beginning of the success story of the Lahco brand.
50s, 60s, 70s
Lahco reached its peak in the 50s, 60s and 70s. It became a well-known and popular brand in Switzerland and in large parts of Europe and even overseas.
80s, 90s
In the 80s and 90s, the entire Swiss fashion industry was confronted with major structural changes. Lahco also had to deal with new market conditions. And like most fashion labels in Switzerland at the time, Lahco also lost its dominant position.
For the last two decades, the company produced mainly for the Swiss market, where there is still a loyal fan base for this traditional brand today.
2003 – 2018
The brand was taken over again with the intention of slowly but steadily rebuilding this beautiful, still only traditional Swiss swimwear brand.
In 2017, the company that owned the Lahco brand filed for bankruptcy.
Balgach, 2018 -
In 2018, the traditional textile company Jacob Rohner AG from Balgach (SG) takes over Lahco. Lahco remains in Swiss ownership. Jacob Rohner AG was founded in 1930 and is famous for the production of high-quality socks under the "Rohner Socks" label.
The aim remains to keep this legendary swimwear brand in Swiss textile history, with high-quality products and sustainable processes for our future.
